New Magnetic Tomography Scanner

MRI - open type Siemens Magnetom Lumina 3.0 Tesla

This is an open type MRI with a state-of-the-art tomograph from Siemens, one of the most advanced MRI scanners available worldwide with (AI) Artificial Intelligence, but also one of the first available in our country, and with a built-in screen for watching television programs during the MRI.

It performs a number of examinations in 5 minutes. The most important advantage, however, is that it has 3 TESLA of magnetic field produced, as it is twice as strong as the fields used in conventional high-field MRI machines and up to 15 times stronger than low-field or open-field MRI machines (open MRI scanner). This results in a clearer and more complete image and therefore a much more accurate diagnostic result. The stronger magnetic fields, compared to conventional MRI scanners, also produce better images of soft tissues and organs. Finally, it has Siemens' biometric technology (BioMatrix Technology), which has the ability to automatically adapt to the somatometry of each patient, predict the patient's movements, and adapt to the shape of their body.

It is a top-notch machine that serves not only our fellow citizens in Aitoloakarnania but also throughout Western Greece, as there are very few MRI scanners of this type in Greece.

MRI is now being taken to other medical and diagnostic levels, both in terms of imaging and examination capabilities, and in terms of patient convenience, since the examination is much faster and noticeably more pleasant, thanks to the larger examination field that removes the feeling of claustrophobia.
